We have conducted in-depth industry consultation with various business organisations to find out what is needed in today’s business environment, what knowledge and skills our graduates must be equipped with in order to succeed as leaders and managers
So, whether you are a born leader, or if you want to learn and develop valuable leadership skills, or if you want to advance your career into a Management position; this qualification will help you achieve your goals. It is essential for aspiring leaders and those already in a management position to be able to display a high level of emotional intelligence and understand its impacts on your surroundings, create an environment which promotes innovation, lead and manage an effective team and their performance, review management practices effectually and understand crucial business processes required for optimal workplace performance. We have developed a course specifically to cater to what is needed in today’s competitive environment.

The assessment is conducted using a combination of realistic workplace simulated tasks, projects, knowledge tests, and response to case studies. The following provides a brief explanation of the assessment methods that are to be applied:

  • Written Response. The learner is required to respond to a range of questions and/or case study activities. The learner will research their answers from the issued textbook and other general and workplace references that are available.
  • Demonstration Task. The learner is required to demonstrate a range of skills and applied knowledge whilst being observed by the assessor. These tasks typically involve the learner leading a workplace activity such as a meeting or engaging with other people in the workplace in order to collaborate build team cohesion. These tasks will also generally involve a discussion between the learner and the assessor immediately after the demonstration to gather further evidence of competency through verbal questioning, posing ‘what if’ scenarios and/or conducting role plays.
  • Project Task. The learner is required to undertake a range of projects to create various workplace documents and outputs relating to the units of competency being delivered. Where appropriate, the learner will be supplied with template documents and tools.
  • Professional Discussion. The learner is required to respond to a range of questions in a one-on-one discussion with the assessor. The learner will be provided with a list of mandatory questions that will be covered during the discussion and they may research and prepare their verbal responses prior to the assessment. Additional questions may also be posed by the assessor.
  • Supervisor Report. A supervisor report will identify the observable workplace tasks on which the supervisor will be asked to provide feedback. The supervisor will receive a briefing at the time the learner begins studying a unit of competency. Feedback will be obtained by the assessor in a one-on-one conversation with the workplace supervisor once the learner has completed a unit.
