We’re coming to Perth for the first time!

Voices Rising. Futures Changing.

The Indigenous Leadership Summit 2026 arrives in Perth for the first time. This is more than a summit — it is a call to action to amplify First Nations voices and accelerate real change across Australia’s workplaces and communities.

The reality is clear. Despite progress, the gaps in employment, representation, and leadership for First Nations Australians remain unacceptable. Recognition alone is not enough. It’s time to turn commitment into action.

About the Event

The Indigenous Leadership Summit 2026 is a powerful platform for change. Bringing together leaders, visionaries, and trailblazers, it creates the space to confront systemic challenges, champion representation, and design solutions that deliver lasting impact.

For aspiring leaders, it’s an opportunity to learn directly from those who have carved a path forward — gaining the insights, tools, and strategies to drive progress in your career, your organisation, and your community.

Our vision is simple: if every attendee takes just one actionable insight from this summit and uses it to spark change, together we will transform the future of leadership in Australia.

Join us in Perth as we move from recognition to action, and from promise to progress.

9:40 AM:  Standing on the Shoulders of Giants: Bridging the Past, Present and Future through Indigenous Leadership

We live in a time of rapid change - socially, politically, and environmentally. As the political spectrum becomes increasingly polarised and threatens inclusion and truth-telling, Indigenous leadership must stand firm in its foundations of persistence and resistance. For thousands of generations, Noongar communities have remained strong and resilient, sustained by our Moort, Boodja and Katitijin. These enduring pillars have guided our Birdiya and our people through the deep impacts of colonisation, dispossession, and systemic injustice.Today, we stand on the shoulders of these giants. It is our duty to ensure that community and culture remain strong by leading in ways that honour our Birdiya, uphold our cultural protocols, and walking in both worlds. Our communities must be empowered to be culturally strong and successful in contemporary society, not forced to choose between the two. This session will explore how we can integrate integrity, intergenerational wisdom, and a commitment to cultural continuity with our contemporary circumstances to lead our communities into the future. We will delve into how Indigenous leadership can confront systemic challenges, resist erasure, and persist in shaping a future where our people not only survive but can thrive.
