He Ara Hou – Forging New Pathways for Māori Leadership

Aotearoa’s leading summit where culture and leadership shape the future together.

The Māori Leadership Summit 2026 is more than an event. It is a movement to step onto new pathways of leadership that honour our ancestors while shaping the future of Aotearoa.

He Ara Hou invites us to reimagine leadership through the values of Te Ao Māori. It challenges us to see manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, and kaitiakitanga as the foundations for decision-making.

Across four days in Tāmaki Makaurau, courageous leaders from business, culture, and community will share stories that spark fresh thinking and challenge old models of leadership. Together, we will explore inclusive workplaces, genuine partnerships with Māori communities, and how rangatahi can carry leadership forward.

Join us at the Māori Leadership Summit 2026 and be part of He Ara Hou. A new path for leadership that is bold, authentic, and grounded in culture.

Why We’re Here: Supporting Māori Leadership

The Leadership Institute was born from our drive to address a critical gap: the lack of diverse representation at senior levels in Australia, starting with women’s leadership. This vision led to our first Women in Leadership forum, which quickly grew to become our flagship event. The overwhelming response to that forum affirmed a powerful truth for us —that even one event has the potential to ignite meaningful change within individuals, sparking a broader impact over time.

Driven by this insight, we expanded our events to support diverse voices across leadership. Our purpose is to create safe, inclusive spaces where people can come together, explore shared challenges, and gain tools to lead with purpose.

The Māori Leadership Summit emerged from feedback at our Indigenous Leadership event, where attendees from New Zealand expressed the need for a platform focused on Māori perspectives.

In 2026, we’re excited to bring this event to Aotearoa. Our role isn’t to define what needs to be done but to support a space for honest dialogue, inspiration, and collaboration. We’re here simply as facilitators, offering a platform for ideas to flow freely and for delegates to take valuable insights into their own leadership journeys.
