Nicole Smith has undergone an impressive professional journey, from primary school teacher to support worker, then community development manager to the head of her department. Through leading NDIS’s Local Area Coordination program across two Sydney regions at Settlement Services International, and as a neurodivergent mother to children with autism, she has become a fierce advocate for people with disability, bringing both lived and professional experience to the table. In this session, Nicole shares how her time and engagement with multicultural communities while at SSI has helped inform her practice, elevating overlooked voices, platforming culturally diverse workforces, and building fairer and more accessible systems for all communities across Australia.
Attendees will leave with a real account of what leading differently looks like, from someone living it.
