Leading Minds That Perform Differently

LEADING WITH CLARITY, BACKING YOURSELF WITHOUT PERMISSION

The Women in Leadership Summit returns to Aotearoa, bringing together leaders from across the public sector, private enterprise, and not for profit organisations for two days of focused insight, reflection, and action.

In today’s environment, leadership is rarely clear cut. Expectations are high, the pace is constant, and many women are already capable of more than their current role demands. Yet too often, progress is held back by hesitation, self doubt, or waiting for a sense of readiness that never fully arrives.

This summit is designed to challenge that.

Women_In_Leadership_Summit_2026_New_Zealand_section

This summit is your chance to break through.

Connect with a cross-industry line-up of extraordinary leaders, from corporate boardrooms to community changemakers who will challenge, empower and inspire you to rise. You’ll hear stories of personal strength, hard-won success, and the lessons learned from forging your own path, not following someone else’s.

With a strong acknowledgement of Māori leadership and cultural identity woven throughout, this is a uniquely New Zealand experience, and part of a celebrated series of summits held across Australia.

Whether you’re stepping into leadership or ready to carve out your legacy, this is your space. Your people. Your moment.

Be bold. Be seen. Be the leader you were meant to be.

SESSION 1:

9:30 AM: Opening Keynote: Leading Before You Feel Ready

Stepping into leadership rarely comes with certainty. For many women, growth brings increased visibility, higher expectations, and the pressure to prove yourself before you feel fully prepared.

This session explores what it really takes to lead without waiting for confidence to catch up. Through honest insights and real world experience, this keynote will challenge the idea that readiness comes first and instead show how leadership is built through action, not perfection.

You will gain practical perspective on backing your judgement, navigating self doubt, and stepping forward with clarity in moments that matter. Because leadership does not begin when you feel ready. It begins when you decide to lead.

SESSION 2
11:20 AM  The Confidence Myth: Why You Don’t Need It to Lead

Confidence is often seen as a prerequisite for leadership. In reality, it is more often the result of taking action.

This session challenges the belief that you need to feel confident before you step up. It explores how many leaders build credibility over time by saying yes to opportunities, contributing before they feel ready, and learning through experience rather than waiting for certainty.

You will gain practical insight into shifting your mindset, managing self doubt, and taking action even when confidence feels out of reach. Because the leaders who progress are not always the most confident. They are the ones willing to move forward anyway.

SESSION 3
12:00 PM Speaking Up When It Matters Most

Knowing what to say is one thing. Saying it in the moment is another.

This session focuses on how to communicate with clarity and confidence in high stakes environments. Whether it is contributing in meetings, challenging ideas, or advocating for yourself, many leaders hold back when it matters most.

You will explore practical strategies to express your ideas clearly, hold your ground in difficult conversations, and speak with authority without over explaining or second guessing yourself.

Because your voice is one of your most powerful leadership tools. The impact comes when you choose to use it.

SESSION 4
2:20 PM Clarity Under Pressure

Leadership often requires making decisions without all the information, under tight timelines, and with competing priorities.

This session explores how to lead with clarity when the pressure is high and the path forward is not obvious. It focuses on cutting through noise, identifying what truly matters, and making confident decisions without overthinking or delay.

You will gain practical insight into managing complexity, staying focused in fast moving environments, and leading with intention when others are looking for direction.

Because strong leadership is not about having all the answers. It is about knowing how to move forward when you do not.

SESSION 5
3:30 PM The Visibility Gap: Why Being Good Isn’t Enough

Hard work and strong performance do not always lead to recognition or progression.

This session explores the gap between capability and visibility, and why many talented leaders are overlooked despite consistently delivering results. It focuses on how to be seen, heard, and valued without feeling like you are self promoting.

You will learn practical ways to increase your visibility, position your work effectively, and build a presence that supports your progression.
Because doing great work matters. But ensuring the right people see it matters just as much.

SESSION 1
9:10 AM:  The Invisible Rules of Leadership

Success in leadership is not only about performance. It is also shaped by the unspoken expectations, relationships, and dynamics within an organisation.

This session explores the invisible rules that influence decision making, progression, and opportunity. It looks at how power and influence really work, and why understanding these dynamics is critical to advancing your career.

You will gain insight into reading the room, navigating complexity, and building influence in environments where not everything is said out loud.
Because leadership is not just about what you do. It is also about how you operate within the system around you.

SESSION 2
10:00 AM: Backing Yourself in the Moments That Matter

Every leadership journey includes defining moments where you are required to step up, make a call, or take a risk without certainty.

This session focuses on what it takes to back yourself in those moments. It explores how leaders navigate doubt, trust their judgement, and move forward even when the outcome is unclear.

Through real experiences and practical insight, you will learn how to recognise these moments and respond with clarity and intent.
Because the biggest shifts in your career often come from the moments where you choose to trust yourself.

SESSION 3
11:40 PM Leading Through Change Without Losing Yourself

Change is constant, but navigating it without losing clarity, confidence, or identity is a challenge many leaders face.

This session explores how to lead effectively through uncertainty, shifting expectations, and evolving roles while staying grounded in your values and leadership style.

You will gain practical strategies to manage pressure, maintain perspective, and lead others through change without becoming overwhelmed or disconnected.

Because strong leadership is not just about adapting to change. It is about doing so in a way that remains true to who you are.
